Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, United Health, and Empire BCBS New York. We also provide out-of-network services and accept private pay. For individuals using out-of-network benefits, we generate a superbill that can be submitted to your health plan for reimbursement. To know if you qualify for out-of-network benefits, reach out to your health plan to ask. This information is also located in your health plan book, which is sent in the mail when you enroll in your health plan.

What is a superbill?

A Superbill is a master invoice that I create monthly showing how much you paid for therapy in the month. This Superbill is then submitted by you to your health plan for full or partial reimbursement.

Do you offer a sliding scale fee?

We do provide reduced fee services for $30- $100. The services are provided by graduate-level interns specifically selected by the owner and come with previous experience in the mental health field. The purpose of internships at this practice is to teach fellow BIPOC, immigrant, and other marginalized clinicians how to provide therapy outside the norm of what’s taught in colonized institutions and prioritizes culturally affirming therapy. The internship also offers the opportunity to teach future clinicians how to run a private practice and expand services in the community in the future.

Do you have late afternoon and evening appointments?

Yes, evening appointments from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm are provided.

How long are your clients in therapy?

Depending on the client’s needs and their commitment to sessions, the lengths of times vary. The willingness and effort on the client’s end will greatly influence the length of time therapy will go on.

What if I don’t feel like you’re the right fit after we’ve had a few sessions?

Therapy is a wonderful and transformative experience as long as there is a therapeutic alliance that’s created. Sometimes creating that alliance can be hard for various reasons. We encourage clients to please us know if they are not satisfied so that we may help them find someone who may be a better fit. We promise we won’t be offended and welcome assertive communication. We recommend two sessions to assess what feels right.
